Activation: To activate the hydraulic dock leveler, an operator typically presses a button or uses a control panel. This triggers the hydraulic system to begin operating.

Platform Movement: As the hydraulic system engages, the leveler’s platform, which is typically made of steel, begins to move. It is hinged at the back and supported by a series of hydraulic cylinders or a single hydraulic system.

Bridging the Gap: The platform extends outward from the dock, extending over the gap between the dock and the truck or trailer bed. The platform is typically equipped with safety features such as side curbs to prevent equipment from driving off the edge.

Height Adjustment: The hydraulic system allows for vertical movement of the platform, adjusting its height to match the height of the truck or trailer bed. This ensures a smooth transition between the dock and the truck.

Load Transfer: Once the platform is aligned with the truck or trailer bed, forklifts or other equipment can safely move goods onto or off the truck. The leveler’s platform supports the weight of the forklift and the load, providing a stable surface for loading and unloading operations.

Return to Resting Position: After the loading or unloading process is complete, the hydraulic system is deactivated, and the leveler’s platform retracts back to its resting position in the dock area.
